Levoit manufactures a wide array of different air treatment products including air purifiers, humidifiers, and essential oils.

In this guide we’re going to take a quick look at all of the air purifiers they currently have on the market.

LEVOIT LV-H126

A small desktop Levoit air purifier

• Although the manufacturer fails to give exact CFM or CADR data, our testing showed the unit's output to be well under 100 CFM.
• 3 fan speeds
• Foam pre-filter
• Single combination particle/gas filter – HEPA particle filter on one side and carbon gas filter on the other
• Retails for around $60

Note: this unit comes with a blue, black, or beige front panel

Recommendation

This unit is what we classify as a “super small” air purifier – a type of air purifier we do not recommend. We do not recommend super small units mostly because they have extremely low air processing power (CFM) – a CFM that’s too low for even the smallest bedroom.

LEVOIT LV-H132

The most popular Levoit air purifier on the market

• Although the manufacturer fails to give exact CFM or CADR data for this unit, our testing showed the its output to be slightly more than the LV-126’s output but still under 100 CFM.
• 3 fan speeds
• Foam pre-filter
• Single combination particle/gas filter – HEPA particle filter on one side and carbon gas filter on the other
• Retails for around $90

Note: this unit also comes in black color

Recommendation

Again, this unit just doesn’t have enough CFM for any reasonably sized room. A much better option at this price point is the GermGuardian AC4825. The AC4825 actually has sufficient CFM for rooms up to 150 sq. ft.

LEVOIT LV-PUR131

Looks like a full-size air purifier but is actually much smaller

• CFM of about 135
• 3 fan speeds – low, medium, high
• Separate HEPA and carbon filters
• Retails for around $160

Note: there’s also a wifi version of this model available – the LV-PUR131S - that you can monitor and control with an app on your phone although it is slightly more expensive. The LV-PUR131S normally retails for about $190.

Recommendation

Top rated units can be had for around the same price with close to double the output – 250 CFM vs the 135 CFM of the LV-PUR131. This much greater output is reason alone to opt for such a unit over the LV-PUR131.

LEVOIT LV-H133

Its single combination filter holds it back

• About 235 CFM
• 3 fan speeds
• Sleep mode, auto mode, timer, dimmer switch, air quality indicator (ring that lights different colors around the control panel on top of the unit)
• Single cylindrical combination pre-filter (fine preliminary filter)/particle filter (HEPA)/gas filter (carbon)
• Retails for about $250

Recommendation

We do like the output on this unit. It’s good enough for rooms up to 300 sq. ft. But top rated units have a separate washable pre-filter that extends the life of the HEPA and carbon filters while the LV-H133 does not. It features a single combination filter that has to be replaced as soon as any one of the filters that comprise it (prefilter/HEPA/carbon) saturate.

Top rated units are also much less expensive. The Coway Mighty normally retails for around $200 and the Winix 5500-2 for around $150.

LEVOIT LV-H134

High CFM but high price and single combination

• About 312 CFM
• 3 fan speeds - same as H133
• Sleep mode, auto mode, timer, dimmer switch, air quality indicator (ring that lights different colors around control panel on top of unit)
• Single cylindrical combination pre-filter (fine preliminary filter)/particle filter (HEPA)/gas filter (carbon) - same as H133
• Retails for about $400

Recommendation

These are not terrible units by any means. Again, we do like the output. It’s more than good enough for rooms up to 300 sq. ft. Note that top rated 250 CFM units will be just as effective in rooms larger than 300 sq. ft. For full details see guide on air purifiers for large rooms.

Again, like the H133, the two big negatives for this model are its single combination filter and price. The whole combination filter has to be replaced when only one of the three – prefilter, particle, gas filter – saturates. And this unit is also much more expensive than top rated units.

The bottom line – we recommend a top rated 250 CFM unit over any Levoit air purifier currently on the market.
